Basketball Recap: Walton Takes a Loss

Walton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a 62-32 loss at the hands of the South Walton Seahawks. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 489th, while the Seahawks are ranked 143rd).

Walton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for South Walton, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walton won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Milton at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Milton's defense has only allowed 29.8 points per game this season, so Walton's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for South Walton, they will take on Niceville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
