Grimsley is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Varina. The Whirlies came out on top against the Blue Devils by a score of 21-14. The 21-point effort marked the Whirlies' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

When it comes to explaining why Varina lost, don't look at Kaleb Wyche. Despite the final result, he rushed for 81 yards and one score, and also threw for 167 yards and one touchdown.

Grimsley's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Varina, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.
