Basketball Recap: Hearts Academy Gets the Win

Hearts Academy won the last time they faced Oak Mountain Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Hearts Academy Panthers secured a 47-43 W over the Oak Mountain Academy Warriors. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jeb Harper, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 19 boards. With that strong performance, Harper is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Another player making a difference was Mads Koelling, who went 8 of 20 on his way to 17 points in addition to five assists and four steals.

Hearts Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Oak Mountain Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hearts Academy will take on Konos Academy in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oak Mountain Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on St. George's at 6:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
