Softball Game Preview: Sherman Tide vs. Chapmanville Regional Tigers

The Sherman Tide will challenge the Chapmanville Regional Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sherman will be strutting in after a victory while Chapmanville Regional will be coming in after a defeat.

Sherman will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Thursday, then bounced right back against Nitro on Monday. The Tide put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 12-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Tide, who have now won seven contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Chapmanville Regional faced Winfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Tigers took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Generals. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Chapmanville Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Sherman, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-7.

Sherman suffered a grim 10-4 defeat to Chapmanville Regional in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Tide avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
