Softball Recap: Lennox Academy Comes Up Short

Lennox Academy managed to slip by Hawthorne the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lennox Academy Panthers lost 17-9 to the Hawthorne Cougars on Tuesday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Valerie Lozano-Prado was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. That hit was her first of the season. Ariana Olmos was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Lennox Academy now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Hawthorne, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

We've got a battle between Panthers coming up. Lennox Academy has given up an average of 13 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Hawthorne, they will square off against Bell Gardens at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
