Parkway hasn't had much luck against Evangel Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Parkway will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
It was a proper cat-fight when Parkway faced off against Benton on Thursday. The Panthers enjoyed a cozy 58-42 victory over the Tigers. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Panthers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Tigers are ranked 113th).
It was another big night for Kb Williams, who threw for 278 yards and four TDs while picking up 13.2 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 60 yards.
Meanwhile, Evangel Christian Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Lafayette Christian Academy on Thursday and fell 24-22. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Parkway will have to contain Peyton Houston as he made an impact in Evangel Christian Academy's last game. He rushed for 103 yards and one score on only ten carries, and also threw for 183 yards and one touchdown while completing 77.3% of his passes. Houston's longest rush was for an impressive 61 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Even if they lost, Evangel Christian Academy's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Damari Drake was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up 2.5 himself. Bennett Speer was another major factor on D, making 19 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Evangel Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Parkway, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.

Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Williams and Houston. Williams just won't slow down this season and has thrown 33 touchdowns (and and only 2 picks) while averaging 250.4 passing yards per game. Houston has been a dominant force too and has thrown 35 touchdowns while averaging 344.2 passing yards per game.
Parkway couldn't quite finish off Evangel Christian Academy when the teams last played back in November of 2024 and fell 45-43. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Houston, who threw for 432 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.5 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 47 yards and one score. Now that the Panthers know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
