Game recap: Chaparral High School Football Team wins against Saguaro

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Chaparral (Scottsdale, Ariz.) extended its winning streak to six games with a 38-20 victory over Saguaro (Scottsdale, Ariz.) on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Brad Schencker to Josh Aganon in the first quarter, the Firebirds led 35-7 at the half.

Chaparral's most effective player was Schencker. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.

The Sabercats' Luke Rubenzer played well. The junior quarterback ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to 10 on the year.

Saguaro came in giving up 17.8 points per game this season. SHS struggled against CHS, which came in averaging 37.6 points per game.



Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 65-0 win for the Firebirds.

The defeat comes as a step back for Saguaro, which notched a 55-13 victory over Arcadia in its previous outing. The loss snapped the Sabercats' 3-game winning streak.
