Baseball Recap: Bruceville-Eddy Comes Up Short

Bruceville-Eddy lost against Leon back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bruceville-Eddy Eagles lost 16-8 to the Leon Cougars. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Zach Campos and Trey Gail did some serious damage despite the final result: Campos scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Gail scored a run while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Gail a new career-high. Brandon Bury was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Bruceville-Eddy's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Leon, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bruceville-Eddy will welcome Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Leon will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Centerville at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th.
