Basketball Recap: 19 Straight Home Victories for Wren

Wren came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 57-49 victory over the St. Joseph's Catholic Knights. That's more bragging rights for the Hurricanes, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

It was another big night for Ava O'Shields, who went 6 for 12 on her way to 21 points and six rebounds. Lydia Wedgewood was another key player, putting up five points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

Wren smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests.

When it comes to explaining why St. Joseph's Catholic lost, don't look at Emi Reese Hand. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 11 points and 19 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Hand a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Armocida, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.
