Softball Recap: Tinora Has No Trouble Against Crestview

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Tinora had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They blew past the Crestview Knights 9-3.

Zoe Billings made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Madison Spangler was a standout: she fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Paige Gamby, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Tinora lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Tinora's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-13. As for Crestview, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.

Tinora wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-1 loss against Montpelier on the 23rd. Crestview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
