Basketball Game Preview: Sierra Chieftains vs. Sanger West Hornets + Official Tickets

The Sierra Chieftains will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against the Sanger West Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Sierra is leaving town to face Sanger West after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Chieftains took a 64-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Madera South last Thursday.

Sanger West not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since December 27, 2024 (when they won 68-22). They breezed past Fowler to the tune of 77-50. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

Sierra came out on top in a nail-biter against Sanger West when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 55-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chieftains since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
