Mead came into Saturday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged the Rocky Mountain Lobos out 20-19 on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mavericks also won the last time the pair played two weeks ago.

Mead let Julianne Williams and Nikki Ward loose on the outfield. Williams went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and a stolen base, while Ward went 3-for-3 with a home run, four runs, and a double. That's the most hits Ward has posted since back in September of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinley Bussard, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Mead didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with six strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rocky Mountain only tossed two.

The victory got Mead back to even at 6-6. As for Rocky Mountain, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mead's road trip will continue as they head out to face Broomfield at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Broomfield will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something Mead surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rocky Mountain, they will venture away from home to face off against Poudre at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Rocky Mountain is facing Poudre at the right time seeing as Poudre is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
