Basketball Recap: Adams City Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Adams City had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 70-41 loss at the hands of the Westminster Wolves. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Adams City lost on Tuesday, don't look at Elias Cornelius. Despite the final result, he posted eight points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Rogelio Moncada, who had five points and three steals.

William Stoddard had a dynamite game For Westminster., shooting 60% from beyond the arc on his way to 24 points along with six assists and five steals. Those five steals gave Stoddard a new career-high. Elyas Romero was another key player, going 7-for-16 en route to 23 points and seven rebounds.

Westminster has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Adams City will challenge Wheat Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westminster, they will take on Lakewood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
