Volleyball Recap: Groveton Takes a Loss

After flying high against Kennard on Tuesday, Groveton came back down to earth. The Indians took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Madisonville Mustangs on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost three in a row.

Kayleigh Albus paced Groveton's offense, picking up five kills. Albus got some help from Alinda Veng and her 13 assists. Veng was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Groveton's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Madisonville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Groveton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Benjamin Davis on the 14th. As for Madisonville, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Centerville on the 14th.
