Perry proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by seven) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Newkirk Tigers 13-11. The Maroons haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Perry's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Newkirk, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8-1 record this season.

Perry will look to defend their home field on Friday against Morrison at 4:30 p.m. As for Newkirk, they will square off against Depew at 12:15 p.m. on Friday.
