Basketball Recap: Columbus Takes a Loss

Columbus lost against Hallettsville back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Columbus Cardinals took a 43-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hallettsville Brahmas. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cardinals came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 414th, while the Brahmas are ranked 945th).

Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Hallettsville, their win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-12.

Columbus will challenge Palacios at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hallettsville, they will face off against Tidehaven at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Tidehaven will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Hallettsville surely won't give up without a fight.
