Volleyball Recap: Kaylee Scoggins and Anabelle Penland Secure Win for Lafayette

LaFayette won the last time they faced Pickens and things went their way on Thursday too. The Ramblers walked away with a 2-0 win over the Dragons. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Ramblers.

LaFayette was led to victory by Anabelle Penland and Kaylee Scoggins. Penland had five aces and four digs, while Scoggins had seven digs and two aces. Those five aces gave Penland a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: LaFayette was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in ten consecutive contests dating back to last season.

LaFayette's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Pickens, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Coming up, LaFayette will square off against Rome at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pickens, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Sonoraville on the 7th.
