Football Game Preview: Los Banos Tigers vs. Golden Valley Cougars + How To Watch

The Los Banos Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Golden Valley Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Los Banos is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Buhach Colony to the tune of 48-9 on Friday. The Tigers pushed the score to 41-9 by the end of the third, a deficit the Thunder had no chance of recovering from.

A big part of Los Banos' win came down to the chemistry between Gavin Blackwood - Estrada and his top target Joshua Gargano. Blackwood - Estrada rushed for 73 yards and one touchdown while Gargano picked up 88 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Jack Goodger did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 99 receiving yards.

Los Banos was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 208 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Golden Valley fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Atwater 27-24.

Los Banos better keep an eye on Isaiah Welch. He was instrumental in Golden Valley's win, rushing for 74 yards and a pair of scores. The dominant performance also gave Welch a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two).

The victory got Los Banos back to even at 4-4. As for Golden Valley, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-6.

Los Banos came up short against Golden Valley when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 27-21. Thankfully for the Tigers, Tyrrell Johnson (who rushed for 65 yards and two TDs on only seven carries, and also caught one touchdown) won't be suiting up this time.
