Basketball Game Preview: New Life Christian Academy Warriors vs. Shining Light Academy Knights

Having just played yesterday, the New Life Christian Academy Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Shining Light Academy Knights at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Monday, New Life Christian Academy came up short against LifeSpring Academy and fell 53-44. While the Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lions 17-13 in the first quarter.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Shining Light Academy and Greater Vision Academy, and Shining Light Academy kept the tradition alive. The Knights claimed a resounding 66-34 win over the Lions. The Knights pushed the score to 62-25 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions cut but never quite recovered from.

Shining Light Academy's win came from a few key players New Life Christian Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jayden Watlington, who shot 73% from the field to rack up 17 points. Another player making a difference was Zach Evaro, who posted eight points along with 13 rebounds and five assists.

Shining Light Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Shining Light Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for New Life Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
