Baseball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

Centennial and Las Vegas squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Centennial had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by just one run.

Centennial saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyle Kono, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Centennial and nudges their season record down to 20-14. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Las Vegas, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 22-10.

Centennial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Las Vegas, they will square off against Palo Verde at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
