Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Abington Heights

Abington Heights had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Valley View Cougars with a sharp 3-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Comets also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

While Abington Heights won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-12, 25-22.

Among those leading the charge was Madison Smith, who had six digs and three aces.

Smith wasn't the only good server: Abington Heights was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 25 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in 14 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Abington Heights' record is now 3-0. As for Valley View, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Abington Heights will square off against Pocono Mountain West at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valley View, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Blue Ridge at 5:00 p.m. on September 8.
