Basketball Recap: University Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when University took on Tohopekaliga on Tuesday. The University Cougars lost to the Tohopekaliga Tigers on the road by a 45-30 margin. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

University's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Tohopekaliga, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.

University and Tohopekaliga could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. University (ranked 299th) will meet Timber Creek (ranked 44th) at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Similarly, Tohopekaliga will take on Gateway at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday down 135 places (216 vs. 81).
