Volleyball Recap: Monta Vista Comes Up Short

Monta Vista lost against Los Gatos back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Matadors fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-2. While the Matadors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 25-12 in the first set.

Monta Vista wouldn't go down easily and took Los Gatos into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 12-25, 25-11, 21-25, 25-22, 15-9.

Despite the loss, Monta Vista saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Srahi Bobbili had 15 digs and seven assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Monta Vista and nudges their season record down to 18-9. As for Los Gatos, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.

Coincidentally, Monta Vista and Los Gatos will both be playing Milpitas the next time they take the court. The Matadors will head out to face the Trojans at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, while the Wildcats will host them at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
