Volleyball Recap: Morrill Beats Garden County for Their Seventh Straight Win

Morrill came tearing into Saturday's match with six straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Garden County Eagles. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Eagles last Thursday, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Morrill who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-21, 21-25, 25-21.

Madisyn Carrizales paced Morrill's offense, picking up 13 kills. Carrizales got some help from Katelyn Walker and her 16 assists. Walker also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Makayla Dykes, each putting up two.

Morrill's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Garden County, their loss ended a seven-match streak of away wins and brought them to 16-3.

Morrill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Mitchell on the 7th. As for Garden County, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Wauneta-Palisade on the 7th.
