Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Cleveland

Cleveland entered their tilt with Lincoln on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Cardinals. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 13-3 win back in April.

Jillian Lee spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Anabelle Sahler, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailen Steffek, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cleveland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in five consecutive matchups.

The victory got Cleveland back to even at 12-12. As for Lincoln, their defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-13.
