Softball Game Preview: South Pontotoc Cougars vs. Itawamba Agricultural Indians

For the second straight game, South Pontotoc will face off against Itawamba Agricultural. The Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

South Pontotoc heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Thursday. They came up short against Itawamba Agricultural, falling 13-1.

For Itawamba Agricultural's part, Abri McAlexander and Skylar Partlow did most of the damage at the plate: McAlexander earned four runs and five stolen bases, while Partlow went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those four runs gave McAlexander a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adalee Abbott, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Itawamba Agricultural always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Pontotoc only posted an OBP of .143.

Itawamba Agricultural has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games. That somehow still isn't as good as their 25-6 record this season. As for South Pontotoc, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-8-1.
