Baseball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Port Washington's Third in Last Four Outings

Port Washington's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They never let the Cedarburg Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-0 back in April.

The result came thanks to Max Webb's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks. Port Washington is undefeated when Webb posts eight or more strikeouts, but 6-14 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on O'Neal Wright, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Port Washington's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-2 (and 5-12 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Page, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Port Washington has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-14 record this season. As for Cedarburg, they dropped their record down to 7-14 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Port Washington didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-9 win against West Bend East on the 23rd. As for Cedarburg, they have also already played their next contest, a 5-4 loss against Grafton on the 23rd.
