Preview: Antietam Mountaineers vs. Palisades Pirates
The Antietam Mountaineers will be home for the holidays to greet the Palisades Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Palisades took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Antietam, who comes in off a win.
Antietam can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. They took down Kutztown 72-55. Antietam's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Antietam's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Julious Williams, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Williams also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was AJ Schiefly, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Palisades' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 38-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bangor. Palisades has struggled against Bangor recently, as their contest on Thursday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Antietam's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Palisades, their loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-3.
