Baseball Game Preview: Simsboro Tigers vs. Beekman Charter Tigers

We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Simsboro has three straight wins, Beekman Charter has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Tuesday, Simsboro earned a 5-2 victory over Haynesville.

Chris Harrell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bryson Yarborough was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Beekman Charter started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against North Webster. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Tigers have suffered since March 19, 2024.

Beekman Charter also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Keylan Sandidge gave up only one earned (and four unearned) runs on three hits.

At the plate, Beekman Charter saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cade Diel, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Beekman Charter's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Simsboro, their win bumped their record up to 14-11-1.
