Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gainesville). They put the hurt on the Eastside Rams with a sharp 18-3 victory on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Hurricanes as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Chris Eckhardt was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Gainesville: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Juan Roman, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

Gainesville hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 3-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Gainesville's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Eastside, their defeat was their ninth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-18.

Coming up, Gainesville will head out to face off against Vanguard at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eastside, they will welcome Saint Francis Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight.
