Marysville and Hilliard Darby are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2022, but likely not for long. The Monarchs are taking a road trip to challenge the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Marysville's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matchups, but Monday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Marysville's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Friday's struggle, when Olentangy Berlin hitters got past them. The Monarchs lost 10-0 to the Bears on Friday.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Hilliard Darby nor Thomas Worthington made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Panthers skirted past the CARDINALS 5-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

The team relied heavily on Josh Bowzer, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Gilkerson, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Hilliard Darby's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-8. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Marysville, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.

Marysville might still be hurting after the 8-2 defeat they got from Hilliard Darby in their previous matchup last Wednesday. Can the Monarchs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
