Baseball Game Preview: Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions vs. Coral Gables Cavaliers

Immaculata-La Salle is 0-4 against Coral Gables since March of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions will be playing at home against the Coral Gables Cavaliers at 6:30 p.m. Immaculata-La Salle will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Immaculata-La Salle's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against David Posnack Jewish Day as Immaculata-La Salle made off with an 18-0 win. Considering the Royal Lions have won six games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Evan Mytril looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Connor Hernandez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Amor, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Coral Gables' offense. They lost 10-0 to Miami Springs on Tuesday. The Cavaliers have struggled against the Golden Hawks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.

Immaculata-La Salle's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Coral Gables, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5-1.
