Baseball Recap: Rock Creek Academy Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Rock Creek Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Cannelton Bulldogs with a sharp 11-0 win on Thursday. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by eight runs or more this season.

Dylan Parente was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Romney Hampton, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Garrett Gullion was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Rock Creek Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cannelton didn't got any hits.

Rock Creek Academy's record is now 3-4. As for Cannelton, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Rock Creek Academy will venture away from home to take on LKY at 2:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Cannelton, they will host Crothersville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
