Volleyball Recap: Discovery Canyon Takes a Loss

Discovery Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Grandview Wolves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Thunder of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

Lexi Haughian paced Discovery Canyon's offense, picking up 13 kills. Haughian got some help from Ava Grimm and her 23 assists. Cami Fisher and Gabby Huebner kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

Discovery Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Grandview, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-12 record this season.

Discovery Canyon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Woodland Park on the 1st. As for Grandview, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Platte Valley on the 1st.
