Softball Recap: Bartlett Yancey Comes Up Short

Bartlett Yancey managed to slip by Jordan-Matthews the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers lost 15-0 to the Jordan-Matthews Jets on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Buccaneers have suffered against the Jets since March 31, 2023.

Bartlett Yancey saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lyndsey Smithers, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. Savana Gibbs also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Bartlett Yancey dropped their record down to 1-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Jordan-Matthews, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bartlett Yancey will square off against Clover Garden School at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bartlett Yancey has given up an average of 15 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Jordan-Matthews, they will be playing at home against Eastern Randolph at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jordan-Matthews is facing Eastern Randolph at the right time seeing as Eastern Randolph is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
