Volleyball Recap: Tolman's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Tolman waltzed into their contest on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Woonsocket Villa Novans with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 last Friday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-13, 25-17.

Hayson Ortiz paced Tolman's offense, picking up 12 kills. Ortiz got some help from Jean-Lucas Barroso and his 31 assists. Fernando Baptista controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Tolman's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. As for Woonsocket, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Coincidentally, Tolman and Woonsocket will both be playing West Warwick the next time they take the court. The Tigers will host the Wizards at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Villa Novans will host them at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.
