Football Recap: St. Pius X Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Trey Finney and Amir Parks-Brooks

St. Pius X lost against Antonian Prep back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Panthers fell 35-26 to the Apaches.

Despite the loss, St. Pius X had strong showings from Amir Parks-Brooks, who picked up 130 receiving yards and two TDs, and Trey Finney, who picked up 165 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Topper Sterling continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Antonian Prep, rushing for 278 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 9.9 yards per carry, and also picking up 45 receiving yards and one TD. Sterling also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Apaches are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Rogan Parson, who rushed for 44 yards and one touchdown.

St. Pius X has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Antonian Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

St. Pius X didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 31-12 defeat against Central Catholic on the 31st. As for Antonian Prep, they have also already played their next matchup, a 40-38 loss against Concordia Lutheran on the 31st.
