The Lane Tech Champions will square off against the Leyden Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Lane Tech is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.

Lane Tech's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. Everything went their way against Guilford as they made off with a 15-0 win. Considering the Champions have won nine matches by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Hannah Roeder, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Amya Cordero, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lane Tech kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in nine consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Leyden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Cary-Grove, falling 11-4.

Gianna Olan was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Lane Tech is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Leyden, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Leyden's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lane Tech has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .482. It's a different story for Leyden, though, as they've only averaged .362.
