The South Beloit Sobos will venture away from home to square off against the Parkview Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (South Beloit has five straight victories, Parkview has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
If South Beloit beats Parkview with 11 runs on Saturday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Sobos beat Schaumburg Christian on Thursday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Sobos, who have now won six games by eight runs or more so far this season.

JT Sanders made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Gage Pasiecznik was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Jonah Martinez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Parkview came up short against Whitewater on Friday and fell 9-5.
Parkview saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christrian Hobon, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another was Owen Moffit, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
South Beloit's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Parkview, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
Parkview's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: South Beloit hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .319. It's a different story for Parkview, though, as they've only averaged .206. Will they be able to contain South Beloit's hitters?
