7A District 8 league recap: 3/27/13

Dylan Moore was the best pitcher in 7A District 8 this week, leading Hillsborough. He won one game and retired ten batters.

Top honors in the league this week go to Brandon, which finished with two wins overall, good for best in the league. The Eagles beat Plant City 6-1 and East Bay 11-1.

Brandon put just three batters on base with walks in the past week, but the Raiders' pitching staff has had the best control this season, surrendering a walk only 26 times in 65 innings this year.

There were 16 hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. The group was paced by Nick Winston, who collected two hits in three at bats for a .667 average.

Eric Hinostroza struck out ten in the Eagles' 6-1 win over Plant City on March 26. He gave up seven hits and one run over six innings of work.
