            Basketball Recap: Lexington Minutemen vs. Shelby Whippets        
        
		
        
        
            After soaring to 55  points the game before, Lexington was a bit more limited  in their  match  on Monday. They were dealt  a  61-24 loss at the hands of the Shelby Whippets. The Minutemen were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  37-11.
 Lexington's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Tatum Stover, who  posted ten  points.  Avaia Francis was another key player,  putting up six points.
 It was another big night for  Eve Schwemley, who  went 7 for 14  en route to 18  points for Shelby. The  game was  Schwemley's 15th in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was  Serena Ramsey, who  went 5 of 12  to rack up 10 points along with five  rebounds and four  steals.
Lexington's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Shelby, they pushed their record up to 18-2 with the  win, which was their ninth straight  at home.
 Lexington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  contest,  a  57-41  victory against Wooster on the 6th. As for Shelby, they also  didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  45-28  win against Pleasant on the 6th.
