Basketball Recap: Oakland International Academy Takes a Loss

Oakland International Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Star International Academy Falcons and fell 69-22. Oakland International Academy lost against Star International Academy in their previous head to head back in February of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 57-33 score last time.

Oakland International Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Star International Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oakland International Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Frontier International Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Star International Academy will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Detroit Cristo Rey at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
