While Richton's victory against Bay Springs wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Richton Rebels had just enough and edged out the Bay Springs Bulldogs 12-11 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Brayleigh Parker made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up four earned (and six unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Kailyn Ely was a standout: she scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Black, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Richton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory got Richton back to even at 5-5. As for Bay Springs, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Coming up, Richton will venture away from home to square off against Collins at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Richton has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. Bay Springs will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Clarkdale at 6:30 p.m. on March 18th.
