Recap: Benson Bobcats vs. Santa Rita Eagles
In what's become a running theme this season, the Benson Bobcats gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 62-24 victory over Santa Rita on the road. With Benson ahead 42-12 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Kaylei Taylor was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Benson's points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Rone, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Benson's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-8. As for Santa Rita, they bumped their record down to 1-14 with that loss, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.
Benson will take on Bisbee at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Bisbee is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Santa Rita, they will head out on the road to face off against Morenci at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Morenci presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Santa Rita in Arizona (Morenci is ranked 115th, while Santa Rita is ranked 276th).
