Softball Recap: Hartfield Academy Hawks vs. Madison-Ridgeland Academy Patriots
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tri-County Academy, Hartfield Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Madison-Ridgeland Academy Patriots. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hawks also won the last time the pair played back in August.
Raegan Huber made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and three RBI.
In other batting news, Hartfield Academy got a big performance out of Kyleigh Seymour, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, a triple, and a triple. Another player making a difference was Carson Smith, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Hartfield Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Madison-Ridgeland Academy, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
