Basketball Preview: Randolph Ro-Hawks vs. Cole Cougars
Randolph is on a six-game streak of home wins, while the Cougars are on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Randolph Ro-Hawks will take on the Cole Cougars at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Randolph made easy work of the Eagles and carried off a 47-26 win.
Meanwhile, Cole stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 66-32 win over Nixon-Smiley. Given Cole's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 382nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 1214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cole to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kamyra Childs, who scored 20 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. Childs hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Abigail Levings was another key contributor, scoring 22 points along with six rebounds.
Randolph has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-14 record this season. As for Cole, their victory bumped their record up to 28-8.
