Baseball Recap: Lyons Lions vs. Smoky Valley Vikings

Logan Isaac put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Lyons' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 4-1 (and 6-7 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Lindquist went 3-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Heitschmidt went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Heitschmidt is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, Marik Anderson was excellent, going 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted over his last five contests. Another player making a difference was Jack Opat, who got on base in two of his six plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lyons beat Smoky Valley by a score of 15-5 later that day.
