Softball Game Preview: Jefferson Wildcats vs. Bluffton Pirates

The Jefferson Wildcats will square off against the Bluffton Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Jefferson will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Friday, then bounced right back against Spencerville on Monday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Bearcats. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by ten runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Bluffton made easy work of Emmanuel Christian on Wednesday and carried off a 13-5 victory.

Jefferson's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-4. As for Bluffton, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Everything went Jefferson's way against Bluffton when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Jefferson made off with a 15-5 win. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pirates turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
