Soccer Game Preview: Winters vs. Esparto

Winters and Esparto are an even 4-4-2 against one another since February of 2017, but likely not for long. The Winters Warriors will welcome the Esparto Spartans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Winters is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Winters is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Live Oak on Tuesday. Winters fell just short of Live Oak by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 826th, while the Lions are ranked 399th).

Meanwhile, Esparto fell victim to Lindhurst and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Blazers, falling 3-0.

Esparto's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Winters, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-1.
