Basketball Recap: Yazoo City Indians vs. Holmes County Central Jaguars
The Yazoo City Indians lost against the Holmes County Central Jaguars last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Yazoo City lost to the Jaguars at home by a decisive 59-43 margin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Yazoo City in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now lost five in a row.
Holmes County Central had a senior duo take command as I'Xana Winters scored 20 points and DeKyra Mitchell scored 16 points along with five steals. Mitchell hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Rh'Tasia Greer, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Yazoo City's loss dropped their record down to 15-13. As for Holmes County Central, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-6.
